Solid Edge Surfacing Training

Delivered with Experience and Knowledge

Introduction The two day Solid Edge Surfacing class instructs students in the use of the Surfacing Tools command set and related functionality.  Surfacing skills are necessary when working with more complex solid models, imported foreign data and aesthetic models stylized with Free Form surfaces.  Free Form surfaces are surfaces that cannot be constructed using standard solid modeling features. This skill set includes creating B-splines and other developed curves, building surfaces through one or more sets of curves, sweeping cross sections along guides, and developing surface transitions between faces.  The instructors lecture and demonstrations for each workflow will be reinforced with hands-on lab exercises. At course completion Students will have improved their surface modeling skills and will have learned: The finer points of curve creation How to create simple and complex surfaces How to edit curves to produce a desired surface The workflows and modeling tools needed to combine and manipulate surfaces into a surface or solid model Overall, the student will be able to show an increase in productivity by more efficient use of Solid Edge. Who should attend - This course is intended for users who want to learn about the Solid Edge Surface Modeling tools. Prerequisites Before attending, potential students should have: Completed Solid Edge Fundamentals Training A basic understanding of parametric modeling Proficiency with profile and sketch construction Lacking the necessary expertise in one or more of these skills is very difficult to overcome in the classroom. Students missing these skills should realize the impact it will have on their learning experience. Topics included with this course:  Introduction to surface modeling  Creating and editing curves Surface creation methods  Surface manipulation methods
